Description

The mission of the CSMD is to advance basic biomedical research into the cellular, molecular, and genetic factors that contribute to the human ocular diseases that are known as macular degeneration. In pursuing its mission, the CSMD seeks to stimulate interactions between basic and clinical scientists, contribute to the training of students and postdoctoral fellows, and lay the groundwork for the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to treat macular degeneration.
